2016 GENERAL ASSEMBLY, ELECTIONS TO THE BOARD AND ELECTED OFFICIALS OF IGREA
The General Assembly of IGREA was held on May 12 at the Miguel Angel Hotel in Madrid, where, in addition to the accounts for 2016 and the operating budget for 2017 being unanimously approved, the election took place for the members of the Board of Directors for the next three years.
The following members were elected: Rogelio Bautista (Abengoa), Daniel San Millán (Ferrovial), Gaizka Nicuesa (Gamesa), Cristina San Sebastián (Iberdrola), Manuel Garrote (OHL), Diego Domínguez (Prosegur), David González (Sacyr) and Augusto Pérez (Telefonica).
The posts of president: Augusto Pérez, vice presidents: Cristina San Sebastián and Daniel San Millán and general secretary: Manuel Garrote was elected at the Board of Directors meeting held June 22nd, the same as the appointment of Javier Navas as Managing director and Vicente Martín as deputy manager.
It was also agreed that this year’s traditional Market Trends Conference will be held in October25th at the headquarters of Iberdrola in Bilbao where the strategic plan and guidelines for the next three years will also be presented.
During the first half of 2016, IGREA has also held several sessions to discuss the issues of most importance to its associates, in particular the debates about the future of the Risk Manager’s function and the risks that Risk Managers will face in relation to the United Kingdom’s departure from the EU (Brexit).
Making the most of the significant attendance by associates, Paulino Fajardo and other lawyers from Herbert Smith Freehills debated the suitability and effectiveness of Financial Interest Clauses in International Programs, drawing conclusions of great interest to all those present.
